Weddings

Here we are, another day another thought. Lately I have been watching marriage proposals online. I’ve spent a few hours watching these. Some of them have been well planned out others have been rather quickly put together. I started wondering why I was doing this. Then today it was clear. I was at a funeral with my wife. It was for a dear friend who totally lived a life of that of a servant for our Lord and Savior. She was a great woman of God. A true example for women and men alike to follow. My thoughts during these days had been of celebration. She has gone to be with our Lord.

This leads me to my thoughts of weddings. We have one coming at some point in our lives. At least those of us who have received Jesus Christ as our Lord. This friend has run the race and won. She attained the prize we all want. For the the bible we are called the bride of Christ. Therefore Jesus is the groom. His proposal came at a time we were not alive. His proposal started when He was hanging on the cross paying a price He didn’t have to. This proposal was fully put into place on the third day when He rose and is now seated at the right hand of the Father. And all we have to say is yes to Him making Him our Savior. When you say yes to Jesus, you become the bride.

These days our society is all messed up. Killings, murders, and rapes are happening at a very frequent pace. Morals and values don’t matter anymore. That which is good has become bad. The bad is now good in their sight. We need to spend more time with God. Reading his word, praying for others, and living a life worthy of His name. At times it may seem to be a bit overwhelming. Almost to much to handle. But don’t give up. Draw closer to Him. the prize is waiting. Just persevere each and every day. The proposal has been made. Say yes, read his word, pray, and live your life obedient to His truths. Do this and you will receive a life with Jesus in Heaven.

Be blessed, Ken

P.S. Thank you Joan for your great example.

The Trapper

During this last Sunday morning the Lord shared this with me. “Beware of the trapper. He has laid out his traps before you. He’s looking to get your soul. He’s looking to get your life. He doesn’t want you to have the life you do in Christ Jesus. Stay close to me and I will guide you around these traps. For the path is narrow. I’m the only one who know’s the complete path. I’ve seen it all. Come to me and get prepared. Follow me down this path. I know where it leads. Do this and the traps will be useless.”

Then I was shown a vision of a metal trap of a trapper. It was larger and rusty. It is clear that the trapper is the devil. He’s going after those he does not have. This is you and I who are of Christ Jesus. I believe this warning comes as a reminder that the end is near. Jesus’ second coming is close. This path we follow is narrow. If it wasn’t, anyone could go there without any challenge. One way to look at it is this path is just big enough for two people. Ourselves and Jesus. He said in his word that He would not leave us or forsake us. We can’t do this alone. After all, Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. Isn’t our goal is to be with Jesus in Heaven. Where we will have a life with Him. There is no other way to get to Heaven than through Jesus. So, why not let Him guide us down this path where the traps of the enemy will be useless. The only way they can affect us is if we stray away from the path. We get distracted and start looking elsewhere for what we want. Thinking its what we need. When in reality its just something else that we put between Jesus and ourselves. If we keep this up, the place between the two of us gets cluttered. Then it becomes a wall that we can’t see around. We try to knock it down, but it is futile. But it’s still not too late. Just cry out to Jesus. Repent of your wrong doing and ask for His forgiveness. Bring Him back into your heart and start a new life with Him. If you had one before then renew your life.

The vision of the trap is simple to grasp. It shows us that his traps are not new. They are the same old things he has used in the past. And no amount of padding and insulation will do any good. You can have the most padded and protective boot, but it is not going to help. Even if it doesn’t seem to hurt, it still does. And the fact remains that you are still caught in his trap. Cry out to Jesus. He’s the only answer.

Be blessed, Ken

Don’t Give Up

This last week has been difficult for me. I was laid-off (I volunteered ), I’ve been reading more and spending more time with Him. Its just that getting into His presence has been challenging. The problem is that I’ve been distracted more. Trying to rest and heal from some sore mussels from work. getting things done around the house. Spending time with my family. My point is that I’m getting closer. We have the habit of giving up to early. Or we go around sulking until we get the attention we want. God knows what we are going through. What we need to do is relax and just talk to Him. First thing I recommend is repentance. Taking time on our knees is always a good thing.

Since then I have been listening better and hearing more lately. Some of which needs more time spent with Him. Other stuff needs me to change some behavior. I wouldn’t be in this position if I had given up. I also wouldn’t be in this position if I had only been a lot less distracted. Needless to say, I’m spending my time a little more wisely.

Repentance is a first step. A second one is wise counsel. Talk to another believer that is mature in their walk. Talking to an elder, pastor, or even a teacher. That is why we are called a body (singular). In James 1:19 it mentions we need to be “quick to listen, slow to speak” and it goes on about being angry. Applying this to our prayer time or even quiet time can do wonders for us. We can train ourselves to listen more clearly. We also can train ourselves on how to get closer to Him easier and more regular. A third step is to read more of His word. After all Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. The bible doesn’t tell us this just to build Him up.

If you’re wondering around in nowhere land, stop and listen. Ask Him for help. Repent in order to have a clean slate. And don’t give up.

Be blessed, Ken

Time for Change

Well I’m back with some thoughts. Its been awhile since my last posting. Mostly due to a heavy work load. With this work load I’ve put more effort into my prayer time. Taking what ever time I can. Being tired has its benefits though. Listening to Him comes a little easier. As of late this time spent with Him is leading to more sensitivity. Finding myself crying more. Crying over the state of this nation. This church body and in particular Zion Illinois. I’m still praying for revival, miracles and healing to happen. I’m also aware that the cost can be a deterrent. This cost is persecution. But, for His body to have freedom and a closer walk with Him is worth it.

We can’t expect this nation to change overnight. We should expect the Body of Christ to change. Change is necessary for Him to have His way in our lives. When we let go of who and what we are, we will see Jesus in an all new way. After this people will see Jesus in an all new way. lets start by cleansing. confess our sins and ask for forgiveness. It all starts on our knees. We all need to spend time at UBK (University of Bended Knees). Its time well spent. I want change. Are you willing to join me. Message me if you do. Any questions can message me. Just start somewhere.

Be blessed, Ken

Stepping Out

This posting isn’t going to be in the usual line of teaching or prophecy. This is a calling out or a stepping out. Lately as I have been spending time in prayer I continue to have one recurring theme. That is the future and present times of this region. As a resident of Pleasant Prairie WI I want to see a spiritual change here. One that changes the culture of this village and that of Kenosha. Where the body of Christ (yes singular body not divisional) comes together to glorify God and effect this change as only God can.

One other recurring theme is the desire to effect this same kind of change in Zion. A town founded by one of God’s modern prophets. Where the roads are given names from the Bible. Lost in this is its history. A history of healing’s and miracles taking place. People being trained and prepared to go out in the world and make a difference for Jesus Christ and the Kingdom at hand.

Back in 2001 I had a revelation or vision or even a thought. Call it whatever you want, but it came from God. He showed me in Revelation 22:1-2 this region. ” Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.” This river flowed through this area between Milwaukee and Chicago. The tree has a split trunk. One part of it is in Milwaukee and the other part is in Chicago.

I say this to let you know where I am going with this. I’m looking for people to join me changing this region. We have an area that has either lost its passion or just misplaced it. A passion for Jesus Christ. A passion for the Holy Spirit to flow and be present. Not just talked about or remembered. This world we live in is changing rapidly. There is no middle ground any longer (as if there was any in the first place). You either are or you aren’t. The world is trying to separate us from them. So is God. Remember the parable of the weeds. Where the weeds grew along side of the wheat. And at the harvest the weeds were collected first and burned. Then the wheat was collected and put into the barn. We need to effect this change. Jesus is only answer. He sits at God’s right hand and intercedes for us daily. Lets go to Him and ask. Not just for this change, but what do I need to do. As a willing servant. As one who wants to be obedient to what God asks of us. This won’t be easy. Persecution is sure to come. But if it were easy everyone would be doing it. And this world would be in a different place already. One outcome of this will be revival both personal and corporately.

Please get in contact with me through this blog or through the Facebook page of this site. Message me on Facebook on my home page. All you need is Me

As I sit this morning I’m going through some of what God has given me lately. The first one I see is this word from the Lord. Its about a month old, but still good for today. So here it is. “My breath is life. My words are nourishing and true. They bring life to the soul. The fatherless are not forsaken. I am their Father. Therefore they are not without. How long will you walk in silence? How long will you walk alone? Turn to me and never be alone again.I have not forsaken you. You are precious and beautiful in my sight. And my sight is perfect. Remember that when they speak their lies to you. No other name but mine has authority. All they have is what I have given them. All they have is what I let them have. My name is precious. All you need is me.”

These words are for both the lost and for those who are in need of encouragement. In this world today the devil has an abundant amount of lies going on. Attacking both the saved and those aren’t. The first part of the prophecy is about what God is offering us. He is life. His words are true and do give us nourishment. They are exactly what we need. nothing can be as filling as His word. With that He addresses the lost. So often they feel alone and not belonging to anyone or even a family. Yet He says that they are not without Him. He told the Israelites that He is their God. Today He tells us that He is our Father. Making it even more personal. In Luke 15:1-7 Jesus tells the story of the lost sheep. He cares enough about the one that He left the many and went after the single one.

After this section He reminds us whose view is important. His is the only one that matters. Don’t let this get to heads to the point of putting ourselves above others. Just don’t forget the He has a better understanding and outlook then we do. We need to keep this in mind. Then He tells us the truth about the others who say things differently than He does. What they say and have is nothing compared to Him. After all they only have what God lets them have. We are His creation. Not the devils. This ends with the reminder that all we need is Him. God fulfills every need we have. Just let Him. Let us draw closer to Him today and give Him a chance to do it.

Be blessed, Ken

Giving Thanks

As this blog is about our life in Jesus Christ. Lets start by giving thanks to Him who has given us life and even more abundant. Today we celebrate the completion of His great sacrifice. His resurrection and ascent to Heaven to sit at the Fathers right hand side. Spend time in His presence today and those to come. His sacrifice is incomparable. It can’t be matched. So don’t try to match it. Praise Him, worship Him and remain obedient to His truths and ways. Giving thanks for what He has done. Sharing this good “great” news with this lost and dieing world. The gospel has not changed in 2000 years. And the answer is simple. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. Mal. 3:6 says “I the Lord do not change.”

Thank you Lord for this day you have given us. Thank you Lord for all you have done and continue to do. Your Love, your grace, and your mercy are received with a very humble heart. Its hard to really and truly express my gratitude. Be with us this day as we celebrate your life. Let us sit at your feet today and enjoy your presence. Thank you again Lord for all you have done. I ask this in your great name, Amen.

The Light Stand

Here is a thought for you today. About a month ago I had a vision of a light stand. In the center was a a larger light about 10-12 inches tall and about 4-5 inches in diameter Circular in shape and well lit. Below it were three lights on a bracket equally spaced apart. These lights were about 3-4 in. tall and about 1-2 in. in diameter. They were lit, but not as bright as the center one. This bracket spun clockwise around the center light. Afterward I heard the Lord say this is my church.

I have spent some time thinking about this. The center light is clearly Jesus. The smaller lights are the different churches I have attended. They could also be different denominations of His body if you chose to see it that way. In any case the spinning part is what I have spent time thinking about. Why are they spinning and why clockwise? The second part of the questions answer is that they are going forward. Not backward as would spinning counter-clockwise would indicate. Time on a clock moves clockwise or forward. Now to answer the first part. This can be troubling. The spinning indicates chasing God. Going after Him and not gaining any ground. The lights being not as bright as the center light shows us that there is still a ways to go.

In John 8:12 Jesus said that He is the light of the world. That makes sense as the center light being so bright. As for the smaller lights it says in Matt. 5:14 “you are the light of the world.” These are Jesus’ words in the sermon on the mount. If we are to be the light we need to be a lot brighter. This dimly lit stuff needs to stop. But to complete this thought we need to address the spinning part. In Ps. 46:10 it states “be still, and know that I am God.” Notice the separation after still. The comma creates emphasis on the first part. Be still and wait. there is no better place to be than in His presence. The more time we spend with Him the brighter we will be. Maybe then we can stop spinning and just be His light . Drawing all men unto Him.

I thank you for taking the time to read this. Just take as much if not more time thinking about this. If there is a prayer request, please let me know in the comments section. If its to personal for this blog go to the Guardians of Life facebook  page and leave a message. Rise up and let your light shine forth.

A Feather

This is something I have been spending time thinking about. I heard the Lord say “a feather is evidence of presence.” It has kept me thinking about His presence. Am I getting into His presence lately or even at all. Have I been spending enough time there. My thoughts have been focused on the presence part of the statement and not the feather.

Why would I focus on that. Well its the evidence part. You know a bird has been there by finding the feather. It is clear that a bird has been there and not something else. A feather is not evidence of a snake or even a bear. So this brought new thoughts of God. Is there evidence of God in my life. Has he been there and is He still here. Scripture says that His people will be known by their fruit. The fruit is simple evidence of God in our lives. In Gal. 5:22-23 Paul gives us the list of the fruit of the Spirit. People should be able to see them clearly in our lives. If they see the list in verses 19-21 then something is wrong in our lives. We need to reverse that trend and start walking toward God not away.

Another thought on the feather is what trail of evidence are we leaving behind for others to find? Is it a trail of foul language, theft, or even worse. But when you leave a trail of love, mercy and grace among other moral values you leave a trail behind that will lead others to God. For we are His children. We are the salt and light of the world. We are called saints and holy and true. So then why don’t we live like it. The world can be changed if we walk and talk like His own. Lets leave a feather on the trail that leads to God. Not rotten fruit. For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son. Its all about God not us. People are paying attention to how we walk and handle ourselves. Our lives may be the only Bible some people read.

1st. Place 2nd. Place

Today I received a word from the Lord. He was talking about places. It started by saying the “I has prepared a place for you.”This was followed by “have you prepared a place for me?” What a thought. Have we prepared a place for him. This place is in our heart. He wants to dwell in us. Not just be an after thought. He is not one to force himself on people. He won’t go where He is not welcome. He  went on to say that this place was not within the four walls of the church. Though He said that it is in the room. Meaning that He wants to be in us.

The next part of the prophecy was a call to Himself. Saying we are to come closer to Him. By doing this we will receive exactly what we need to prepare an open heart for Him to dwell in. Which reminds me of some of my thoughts before church. These were of the failings of the “American” church service. And to bring about a change in the way they are happening. Both conclusions have the same answer. Draw closer to Jesus and let Him make the changes. This though is a topic for another day. When we draw closer to Him we will be changed. For the better, even if it doesn’t seem that way at the time.

The prophecy ended with a question. Are we preparing a place for Him? Are we? How willing am I to go to what lengths to have a place for Him? What keeps me from going there? Some of the answers are fear of change. Fear of being branded as a lunatic. Or is it some other reason. It doesn’t matter. Jesus overcame them all for us. So that we can come to Him. So that we can have that special relationship with Him. So that we can be in His presence. I willing are you?

Be blessed, Ken
