Hello everyone. Back in June I shared some personal thoughts and going on’s in my life. In a short continuance of that post I still have my bad times and good times. Having both in one day is not unusual. At least I am trying not to dwell there (the bad times) for very long. Now to my latest thoughts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Off and on for a period of time I have thought about the marriage of man and woman. With this is the part about submission. First I will say that this is not about the “whip and chair” type of submission. The text of this is going to be Eph.5:22-33. I will be in the NKJV for this. Highlighting parts of the text rather than type it all out. It starts out in v22 by telling wives submit to your husbands AS TO THE LORD. this is important to remember. Its not as to the husband or else. Continuing it says that the husband is head of the wife as Christ is head of the church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From this point we will see a comparison of marriage and Christ & the church. In v25 it says husbands love your wives as Christ loved the church. This is where we usually stop reading. But it continues with “and gave himself for her.” Men, when our wives are submissive, and subject to us we need to protect them. Taking care of them, sanctifying them, cleansing them, and washing them with the word. Their submission falls on us in a great way. With v27 talking about the church and yet it applies to us and our wives as well. Presenting them without spot, wrinkle and blemish. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Verse 28 and 29 talk about taking care of them as we would take care of our own bodies. Our own selves. Once again though it finishes the verse with “cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.” Skipping down to v30 it tells us husbands to love their wives as himself and see that the wife respects her husband. When we (husbands) follow the example of our Christ Jesus it will be easier for our wives to respect us. If they don’t, then that is a talk for another time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Men, let’s pay attention to how Jesus loved His Church. Following His example, His words, His truths, and how He gave Himself for the church. Our wives will be better for it and think of the example we are giving our children. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
